Welcome back to Part 2 of the guide! If you haven’t seen the first one, click this link: Minecraft Java Ultimate World Guide (Day 1-10 Part 1)

DAY 11

Your Minecraft world is slowly decaying, and it’s time to grow it back. First, we should visit the nether. It will be beneficial to collect some blaze rods early on.

Here are your requirements to go to the nether. If you have not fulfilled them, it’s time to go fulfill them! You have all of Day 11 to fulfill these requirements and if they are already fulfilled, spend Day 11 gathering materials that you might need.

The most important, first! Blocks. Blocks are by far the most important material to bring to the nether. You can bring cobblestone, the easiest to acquire, stable and non-burnable block. I’m recommending you bring about 4 stacks of cobblestone. That might not be enough, still!

Also, you should bring some wood just in case you need to craft some more tools or things on the go- make sure to craft a crafting table. Just make sure you don’t place the wood down and let them burn!

Even the best of the best players slip and fall into the lava from time to time. There are many ways to counter it. You could bring a potion of Fire Resistance, preferably one with 8:00 duration, or you can bring an Enchanted Golden Apple, with many effects and fire resistance on the list. Enchanted Golden Apples can also protect from other threats like piglins or ghasts due to its regeneration.

As I’ve mentioned in Nether Requirement #2: Lava Protection, it is beneficial to bring an Enchanted Golden Apple. You can protect yourself from fire damage and mob damage. Its fire resistance can easily block lava damage, and its quick regeneration can save you from mob encounters.

The best way to not get mob damage in the nether is avoiding the encounters altogether. You can avoid normal piglin damage by simply wearing something golden- chestplate, leggings, helmet, or boots. to avoid zombified piglin damage you can just not hit the zombified piglin. If you do, all zombified piglins in range will attack you.

Hunger, the biggest problem ever. Make sure to bring enough food to last the journey but not too much because you might lose it. Suggested items are cooked beef, porkchop, and bread.

Here’s a list of optional things to also bring. They might take a long time to acquire but will also help your journey significantly.

  • Ender Pearl: Get out of lava and tight situations easily by right clicking at the location you would like and throwing it.
  • Apples: If you have a handy pickaxe, you can mine some gold from the nether walls and use a crafting table to craft golden apples.
  • Iron Blocks & Pumpkin: If you find the nether, especially the nether fortress too challenging, (I sometimes do) you can bring some iron blocks and a pumpkin to spawn an iron golem! They can highly assist you in battle and probably knock out all your enemies!
  • Armor: More of a necessity than optional item. If you don’t bring armor, you might be cooked; armor protects you from damage.
  • Spyglass: Handy and simple tool to spy on the piggies and fortresses from long range.

DAY 12

It’s finally Day 12! How do you guys feel? The time you will enter the nether! Walk over to your nether portal and step inside. It’s time to be transported to the fiery and dangerous dimension. When you are transported, the first thing you must do is type your coordinates into chat.

Depending on where you spawn, you will see these types of blocks:

  • Soul Sand, a dark brown sand that slows you down / Soul Soil, a dark brown soil that does not slow you down.
  • Netherrack, a red type of block quite easy to mine with your bare hands compared to other blocks.
  • Nether Bricks, although an extremely rare occasion where you spawn right inside a nether fortress. Only fortresses have nether bricks.
  • A Red or Blue sort of dirt: You might be spawning inside of a crimson forest or a warped forest.
  • Basalt, the most annoying spawn (in my opinion) almost impossible to travel easily and full of annoying mobs.

If you want to make this fast and easy to find a fortress, you can go to an external site like Nether Fortress Finder – Minecraft App and enter your seed. Your seed is inside your world settings. Select your version and then it will update automatically, giving you coordinates on the nether fortresses around you. Click F3 inside the game to see your coordinates. After clicking F3, it should be somewhere on the left-hand side of the screen saying X: __ Y: __ Z: __.

It might take about a day to travel to the nether fortress and get ready to fight.

DAY 13

Woohoo! It’s Day 13. You’re looking at the fortress through your spyglass (if you bought one) or possibly just looking. Anyway, head through the fortress via mining, almost never go up top because a majority of mob spawns are there and you can be hit by blazes if you are standing right in the open.

After mining into the fortress, look around. Try to find a soul sand area next to stairs with nether wart on it. Collect all the nether wart. Beware of mobs: They are very dangerous and remember your iron blocks and pumpkin if you need it! After collecting all the nether wart, head through the passages, if there are chests, take the loot, and find a blaze spawner. A blaze spawner is an area with a black cage the size of a block with fire particles and something whirling around in a circle inside of it. If there is no roof, make sure to create one out of your cobblestone. You DO NOT want any blazes to drift away and snipe you while you are collecting rods.

Keep killing those blazes. Get about 12-15 rods. After you’re done, flee for your life and run, run all the way back to your portal. Check the coordinates you put into chat! After you made it back, enter through the portal and get back home. It’ll be about Day 14 by now.

Day 14

What are we going to do today? Well, seems like you’re running low on resources after getting through the nether! Mine more cobble (you probably depleted your entire reserves while going) and mine some more! Also, you should probably get more wood. You might have brought a lot in your journey.

Spend the whole day gathering more materials. Make sure you gather a lot-lot, you might need it soon!

Day 15-16

Another milestone! You know what we do here? Find another unique flower and place it on your plateau.

What are we going to do on Day 15, you ask? Unfortunately, as boring as it seems, if you want to visit the end in the future, you must collect ender pearls. Collecting ender pearls takes a long time and isn’t an easy task– it can take days, so today and tomorrow will be collecting ender pearls. Endermen spawn at night, try to get about 12.

Day 17

Use your blaze rods and craft them into blaze powder by placing one into a crafting area [crafting table or inventory 2×2 crafter] and then place blaze powder and the ender pearls you collected into a crafting area, and it should become ender eyes! These ender eyes will be used to get to the end. Part 2 is the last in the guide and on Day 20 you will begin your journey to the end. For today, you will prepare for that journey. Stockpile food. Get blocks. Possibly a horse and a saddle. Get weapons, iron, and armor, also iron. If you have anything better, use it, but if you have anything worse, don’t use it.

Day 18

Near the end of this guide, there isn’t much to do but to prepare for Day 20. Possibly improve your base or collect more materials. Day 20 is the day you will be using it all.

Day 19

We have no time. Get another flower, place it on the plateau. Get your horse and begin travelling. Make sure you have these items:

Bring all you have, and your blaze powder just in case you don’t have enough. You can find ender pearls almost anywhere in the overworld but blaze rods not everywhere!

Even most skilled players die in the end. You’ll need a bed to place down right before you jump into the portal; if you die you can easily get back.

Blocks! No adventure goes great without blocks. Bring a couple stacks of cobblestone just in case you encounter rivers and need to get over.

The boat is for oceans. The horse can ride on your boat as the second passenger across the ocean.

Golden apples, healing potions, whatever you can find, bring it! The end fight will be extremely difficult and some healing potions can help significantly.

Food. Your hunger bar always goes down during adventures due to running and jumping- you don’t know how long your adventure will be so keep enough food on you always!

Always have a water bucket with you to the end. It can protect against endermen, mitigate fall damage, or even help climb pillars!

Day 20

It’s Day 20. You should have found the stronghold by now! If you haven’t, keep searching. The end fight will be difficult. Remember to place your bed and a chest outside the portal just in case you die and lose your items. You must break the crystals above the large obsidian towers. Do that and the dragon cannot heal anymore. When it perches, kill it using your sword. If you have a bow, shoot it while it is in flight.

And now, you’re finished! Beating Minecraft in 20 Days! Jump through the portal and you should be back at your latest spawn point. From now on, you can build whatever you want- gigantic, prismarine towers, huge, player statues or even massive trees!

This is the end of the guide. Hope you had a fun time and your adventures will continue. With that, see you in the next post!
