To write down π on your keyboard without searching up “Pi copy and paste” which is annoying, you can do a simple keyboard shortcut instead to get π:
- Make sure your num lock (click here to see an image of the num lock button) is turned on. There is a simple check: Click on the textbox below where it says “Test here. . .” and using numbers only from the number pad, (you can view the number pad image at the bottom of the page for more clarification) type in some numbers. (Only from number pad).
Numbers Show Up
If they show up, proceed to the next line of instructions.
Numbers DO NOT Show Up
If they DO NOT show up, click the num lock button and test again in the textbox above, then proceed to the next line of instructions.
Great, now since you’ve activated the number pad, now for the shortcut:
Find where you want to put π in, (to test, use the textbox above) and while holding down the alt key, (click here to view an image of the alt key) press 2, 2, and 7. Which means you have to click the number 2 on the number pad twice, and then click one seven. All while holding down the alt key. Once you release the alt key, π should appear.
