People have been cutting down trees for thousands of years. If we don’t fix it somehow, the world can be in serious trouble.

Many people are up to helping the environment, while many companies are cutting down more and more trees to create lumber for construction & other reasons. Here’s how you can help the world before it turns upside down.

One of the first things on the list is go plant some trees. You can go to the nearest store that sells fertilizer and tree seeds and start planting. Doing this can help the environment too! Even though it doesn’t make a large impact on the environment, imagine many people doing this. If thousands of people plant trees every day, it would create a large impact!

Without trees, the world would be in big trouble. Because trees help create more healthy air for us humans. Although, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 10 million hectares of forest are lost annually, which is equivalent to an area roughly the size of Iceland. This translates to around 15 billion trees cut down each year. Approximately 475 trees are cut down per second!

The world has already lost one third of its trees. If you look at the photo on the right, you can see how much trees are cut down from the world. It might not seem like a lot for thousands of years, but it will create a very large impact on the environment sometime in the future. You can help today! To help, you can just start planting some trees outside!

Even though there are still mostly trees left, (out of trees cut down and trees left) they could be cut down soon. Even though it took thousands of years for it to turn into this, it could take less than a thousand years to cut down the rest. With all the modern technology and new methods people have, they can cut it down way faster. The wildlife world is in trouble.

If things keep up on this rate, the world’s trees will be not cut down anymore due to the shortage of trees.

But by then, there won’t be many trees left. The tree amount will have decreased by thousands.

If you don’t want to physically plant trees, you can digitally plant trees! Believe it or not, Microsoft’s E-Tree lets you plant trees directly from your browser. By doing tasks and logging on, you can collect water. Then, when you level up to level 10, they’ll plant you a real tree in Kenya! This method is much slower than buying trees and planting them, so, if you want to create a larger impact on the environment, you should go buy and plant some trees today!

You could also reduce your carbon footprint by using other means of transportation other than something that releases carbon dioxide.

Protecting the Environment

  • Plant trees
  • Use bicycles for short distances
  • Walk for short distances
  • Use E-Tree every day
  • Use an electric car
  • Reducing your carbon footprint
  • Throwing apple cores away (for fertilizer)
  • Recycling recyclable items

Harming the Environment

  • Driving your car unnecessarily
  • Cutting down trees
  • Releasing more carbon dioxide
  • Littering (non-decomposable items)
  • Killing wildlife (like animals and plants)
  • Putting recyclable items in the trash
  • Using non-environmental friendly items
  • Using soap unnecessarily

In conclusion, we need to protect the environment before things turn upside-down. Doing some of things above can help you protect the environment before it’s too late.
