You might not remember our last adventure where Meep became a detective in the first Porcupine story, so I’ll give you a quick interview.
This is Meep. He is a curious and shy cat. Recently, he became a detective from Detective Hiring Center.
Anyways, let’s get back to the story:
The scurrying sounds was actually a Porcupine. Meep came over to investigate. But a good detective has to watch the news first, he thought. So, he opened his phone and turned on the news. There, a giant black headline blazed above all others, and it read: BREAKING NEWS: PORCUPINES IN A PARK!
The following words are Meep’s reading.
Recently, a park in Houston, Texas had been storing Porcupines in a park to block visitors from coming in because of construction. Although the visitors did not notice the Porcupines, and some may have stepped, sit, or even touched them. Sorry For the Inconvenience.
Time to investigate in the construction. Meep thought. So, he hurried into the chaos to see what was going on. There, he saw something peculiar. Someone wearing spike-proof gloves and throwing Porcupines around. Then, Meep put on his badge, hat, and took out his Magnifying Glass he got from the Detective Hiring Center. He started to get close to the construction. . .
Suddenly, a man came out of nowhere and said in a loud voice “Do not enter this construction site.”
Hmm. Meep thought as he walked away. He’ll need some other way of getting in, and some tools to capture evidence. So, Meep walked the rest of the way home. He quickly sped to a normal looking closet with a code to enter. He put in the code and entered. Inside of the “normal looking closet” it was filled with gems, valuables, and electronics. He grabbed a camera, audio recorder, and other things. Then, ran to another room with another closest.
Once again, there was a lock with a code needed to enter. Meep again entered the code into the closet, and there he found more things. Except this didn’t look like a closet, not even a closet holding valuables. It looked like a lab. Shelves were stacked with bottles with different types of colored drinks inside of them, all labeled with what they did.
Meep looked around, there was no invisibility potions. So, he grabbed some ingredients and items and poured them into a cauldron. He started mixing and adding ingredients at the same time. It turned pale blue. Meep added some more ingredients and kept stirring and mixing. Soon, the liquid inside the cauldron had turned reddish white.
He divided the liquid into bottles. Meep put the extra bottles on the shelf. He took one just in case he needed more invisibility. Meep knew this would only last an hour. . .
He took some more potions from the shelf and put them into his detective briefcase. Meep was finally ready to investigate the case. After checking that all he needed was inside the briefcase, he crept back to the park. Unnoticeable, he drank one of the invisibility potions. Meep tiptoed, (because the potion did not stop sound) and tiptoed behind the construction. The blue tarp covered the entire construction site, and he lifted it and went in.
Looks like nobody saw me, Meep thought. Then he turned on his camera. Oops! The camera and briefcase weren’t invisible! So, he quickly grabbed another invisibility potion and splashed it onto the camera and briefcase. That was a close call, he thought. He turned on the camera and the audio recorder. What he saw was mind-blowing. Porcupines were being dispensed; a big concrete building was taking shape.
Meep went around the building and kept recording, took more photos, and that was all the evidence he needed. Now, it’s time for Meep to go back to the detective hiring center.
