In the summer of 1969, millions of people watched as the crew of the Apollo 11 was blasted away from the Earth using the Saturn V Rocket from the Kennedy Space Center. After traveling over 240,000 miles in only three days, the Saturn V Rocket entered Lunar Orbit, preparing for one of the most important parts of their journey. . .
As they descended toward the moon and as it landed, Neil Armstrong’s famous words were:
“Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.”

About 600 million people watched Armstrong live as he stepped onto the moon. Once he stepped on the moon, more words were:
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
