Most of everybody thinks that coins are useless and don’t grant you anything. But in time trials, these shiny coins can help you beat your personal record!

When you have more coins, your speed is increased by a little. Even though you’re at 10 coins, (max) keep collecting them because they give you a little speed boost each one. Coins can tell you the difference between first and last place.

After reading those two paragraphs above, I bet you changed your mind about coins being boring and weird, right?

If not, I’ll give you some more information about coins below.

If yes, yay! At least you understand the importance of coins in time trials and trying to beat others in Multiplayer mode.

Coins × Coins = Coins Squared

Coins can also be used to unlock new karts, gliders, wheels, and characters. They can be used to your advantage because some characters combined with vehicles work better and go faster in some types of multiplayer or online rounds. Different tracks, different characters because each character has its own stats that depend on the vehicle that they use.

Note:
The total number of coins you collected in a round don’t count for unlocking items. The number is added to the total amount of coins you have collected in total, (all players all rounds), and once you reach a specific number of coins it will give you new things.

STILL don’t like coins??? Aw, fine. The last thing I can do for you today is teach you a trick that can view your stats, which helps a lot in multiplayer and online and time trials.

I’ll teach you how to view your stats, just keep reading. How to View Stats starts in the paragraph 2 paragraphs below this one.

On the left you can see a preview of what I’m showing you.

First you need to be at the Vehicle Selecting Screen. This screen appears once you press “A” after the Character Selecting Screen. Once you’re there, a handy trick is to press the “+” button on your controller to have a popup that shows your stats. Seeing the character or how your vehicle looks isn’t important, it’s about the stats on your vehicle.

Closing the Screen:
Click the “+” button on your controller again to close this screen, if you ever need to.

Hopefully ya’ll learned something new today. Comment below about your favorite part!
