One day, Meep was curled up in a ball under a tree in the park. He heard a loud car drive by- that was the 17th one! Until he heard a particularly loud car drive by, and it stopped. “Can’t a person rest in peace?!” he yelled to the driver. (Meep isn’t a person, he’s a cat.) Then the driver rummaged through his pocket for a second, pulling out a large white and red envelope with the words written on a little piece of paper attached to it: To Meep, From Steve.
He wondered what could be in this letter…?
After yelling at the driver to go away, he tore open the letter. Inside, it said:
Hello, Meep. Can you come to my house for my Birthday party at 3:50 PM next Sunday? It would be perfect, you’re the last guest! Please respond as soon as possible.
Chuckles, Steve.
He quickly peered over his shoulder into his suitcase and rummaged through it for a few seconds, he found a ripped dark red notebook inside. He opened it and found an empty page, and tore it off.
On there, he found himself a pen attached to the book, and wrote:
Yes please, I’ll be there at 4:00 next Sunday. Can’t wait to see you there!
Explosions, Meep.
Feeling a bit depressed of having no car, he borrowed a bicycle from the ‘lousy neighbor’ and started paddling to the post office. By now, he knew the city really well. Finally, after 23 minutes, he stopped abruptly and climbed off the bicycle. He went into the office and spoke in a cheery voice. “I would like to send this to 2354 Aisle Crossing, Manhattan, New York, 28403.” said Meep, handing him the letter.
“Yes Sir, or cat, or whatever. I will contact the driver… one second.” He returned a second later with another man with him. The man gave the note to the driver, which strode over to the door, and pressed his hand onto a detector, which automatically opened the door. Sixteen minutes later, he got a message from his phone while paddling home. Despite nearly falling off the bicycle, he didn’t care.
The message said:
Your message has been successfully delivered to 2354 Aisle Crossing, Manhattan, New York, 28403.
Meep pocketed his phone and pressed a button on the bicycle. Despite not knowing what it did, he still pressed the hexagon-shaped purple button. The bicycle started shaking, before Meep could scream, he was in the lousy neighbor’s front yard. He returned the bicycle, gave him a slightly ripped ten-dollar bill, and went back home. Click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click. A brand-new KIA car came crashing out. He went in, and drove through the walls.
Vroom, vroom, vroom. A long fifty-seven minutes drove by. He was at the house. Wait, it’s not Sunday yet! Luckly, it’s only a day before it’s Sunday!
After curling into a ball and sleeping, he woke up at 3:55. Large disco balls were flashing light everywhere out of the window from the house. Meep decided it was best to go in. He went in and crushed a newly painted painting, and–
“Oh, hello Meep. I was wondering when you were going to come. You always go ten minutes earlier than you promised, right?” said Steve.
“Well, yeah. Anyways, wait… did you buy these cushions?” replied Meep.
“No. Got them from a friend, I thought it would be good for the party. Feel free to sit on them if you want to!” replied Steve.
After plopping himself on one of the blue-and-black cushions, he noticed a large bowl. His stomach gave a loud rumble. He hadn’t had food since 7:40 AM!
The bowl (which was actually a plate) was divided into four quarters which had different types of food in them: Chips, Candy, the stuff you would usually get for a party. He grabbed one of the clean plates nearby, and helped him to a ton of fruits, vegetables, and of course, chips and candy.
After eating supper, he finally was full. He went around, (not really, just watching one of the three televisions.) and the party ended. Woah… he checked his watch. It had been three hours!
After getting back into his broken, but still usable KIA, he sped back home without a word.
The next fifty-seven minutes went by as fast as a snail, until he arrived at home. Coming to a halt and driving into his driveway, which was actually a park-in at his park, because his house was destroyed back in a different story.
He snuggled back into his ‘Cat Nest’ next to his favorite tree and dozed off.
